Pinterest is the new Facebook

Since I sit at a computer all day long with lots of down time now that we're hitting the slower season, Pinterest always seems to be what fills up my screen.  It's so hard not to drool over the yummy recipes people have made, swoon over closets the size of 3 bedroom apartments, and contemplate if I really have the skills/time to make some of these nifty DIY projects.  I've known about Pinterest for about a year and a half (thanks to my wonderful friend Megan for introducing me to it) and I'm proud to say that in that time I've completed 18 of the things that I've pinned.  Now this may not seem like a lot, but when you think about it, most people who pin things from the site NEVER actually do ANY of it!  Also, a lot of the things that I've recently been pinning are things to do with/for Logan as he gets older.

I have a lot of home improvement DIY projects that I want to do around the house to decorate for the holidays, so I'm sure I'll find something to keep me busy for the next few months.  I've given myself a $25 budget each week to do a project, any project that I pin.  If it can't be done in one week or for $25 or less, then it gets moved to the "big project" list that won't happen until probably next year.  I figure this way I make sure that I start and finish a project fast enough to get the immediate satisfaction that I love, and it doesn't break the bank in the process!

Here are some of the pinned projects/recipes/ideas that I've completed so far:

1) Black and White photo on canvas with black edging
Pinned Image

2)BBQ Pineapple Chicken
Crock pot hawaiian bbq chicken. Yum! Making this for dinner tonight!

3)Work out
***Do this routine before every shower: 50 jumping jacks, 5 push ups, 20 crunches, 20 mountain climbers, and 30 second plank. So worth it.

4)Christmas Planner
Free Christmas Planner Printables.

5)Ricotta filled shells over meat sauce
Stuffed Shells yummm!

6)Logan's footprint at 2 1/2 months old
Future idea.. 1/2 cup salt, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup (give or take) water. Knead until dough forms. Make impression. Bake at 200 for 3 hours. Do every summer and make a stepping stone path :) INSTEAD OF PAYING THE PRICE I PAY I SHOULD TRY IT....

7)New hairstyle
This is what my hair could look like only on a good day after having 4 different stylists work on it!

8)Another work out (and omg this totally burns)
Starting this work out...tomorrow

9)Double layer chocolate cake with kit kats, peanut butter M&M's, lots of frosting, and a bow!
Going to make this ASAP!!!

10)Elmer's glue canvas art
Elmer's glue on canvas. Then paint the whole thing one color...brilliant!

11)NB photo of Logan's feet and our wedding rings
Baby Photo Idea

12)Hair style
Works like a charm :)

These are some of the fun things I've been up to this past year and a half.  Let's see what else I can get myself into!

Wow, I tell ya what, wow!

I can't believe it's been 5 months since I last posted, oh wait, yes I can!  I've only had this crazy thing called an infant to take care of, lol!  Once again, time has managed to sneak by me undetected and then blind side me!  Where has the past almost 6 months gone?? In 6 short days I'll have a 6 month old little boy on my hands ::insert scared/shocked face here:: and my niece will be 11 months!  They grow up too fast, and I have a feeling that that'll always be the case.

So here's a quick update on life.  I'm still working at Strathmore Park Apartments as a Leasing Manager/ Assistant Manager and loving it (most days).  Bryan is working for a landscaping company called Rock & Co. out of Brighton doing everything from driving slabs of stone around all day, busting rocks with sludge hammers, and building pretty things :).  Logan is rolling all over the place, turning himself in circles (literally), and starting to get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth!  This kid will be crawling before we know it!  Looks like we need to babyproof our house REALLY soon!

As it sits, the month of September has been amazing so far!  Our Nebraska friends drove down to see us over Labor Day weekend.  We went down to Colorado Springs to the Garden of the Gods, then over to Boulder to see Pearl Street and visit a few breweries.  The guys got to see some of their other fellow Marines from 169 so they were thrilled.  On top of that we got to see Marine 1!!!  It's one of the helicopters that the President flies in!  Logan even got to sit in the President's seat :D!  Who knows, maybe it'll be his seat one day.  It was a very cool and rare opporrtunity for us so of course we took pictures.  I'll have to add them later.  Getting to spend time with Ashley and Adam was definitely the highlight of my week.  We've missed having them around ever since Bryan got out.  Luckily we've decided that we're going to have to make seeing each other a regular thing!

The next week in September brought more friends and family to Colorado.  Two more of Bryan's previous 169 Marines were in Colorado with the Presidential squadron.  We met up with them at Bdubs and then had a Skee Ball competition at the Copper Rail.  Naturally I won ;).  Then two days later Bryan's dad was in town so we were able to see him at dinner!  This was the first time that he'd met Logan after already being 5 1/2 months old.  He fell head over heals in love with him right away.  Then again, it's kind of hard not to!  Life has just been pretty good over all.  I hope that this continues into October and the rest of the year.

I'm sure I'll be posting a little more often now that things have started to settle down a little bit.  Take care everyone and know that we miss and love you lots!!
